150k in 30 days in aid of Mental Health Awareness

Movember is the month for hairy faces as men put their shavers down and grow their moustaches to raise awareness of men’s health issues – prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s suicide.

A dad from Moorside Rangers Junior Club in Swinton Manchester, Jack Eckersley has set himself a different challenge. Running 5k, a day, for the month of November to raise funds to support mental health awareness.

Friends and family have joined Jack to support him reach his target. His biggest supporter, son Ollie, 7 has been on a few runs encouraging his dad to meet his goal of 150k. Said Jack, “I wanted to do something for the money I raised. What better way to get fit and raise awareness about mental health at such difficult times”.

Stay at home restrictions to curb the spread of Covid-19 has seen the rise of mental health problems and suicide rates.
