Together in Spirit: Farewell Reflections from Sierra Leone

Day 5: Health, Culture & Hard Conversations
We visited clinics and met sowei leaders (traditional Bondo initiators) to witness transformative change: under the leadership of Adama and WESOFOD, women who once performed FGM are now advocates for protecting girls. The local health clinic confirmed there were zero cutting cases this year — a legacy of change rooted in empowerment, not enforcement.
This is a story of local leadership and dignity: inclusion isn’t just about buildings, it’s about rewriting narratives and building new futures.

Day 6: Together in Spirit — Farewell & Reflection

Our final evening was a celebration of what we have achieved and of partnership in motion. At the RRC we shared songs, memories and heartfelt goodbyes.
To our partner team: Joseph, Alpha, Adama, Isata, Ya Alimamy — your leadership, trust and discipline guided us.
To supporters in the UK and Sierra Leone — your belief that inclusion must be lived, not just spoken, made every step possible.

This visit has been the beginning of something lasting — a foundation not just for Clarity House, but for a community‑led movement of inclusion, resilience and opportunity.

What’s next?

In the coming weeks we’ll share first‑hand reflections from the delegation — insights, sit‑down quotes and moments that shaped this journey. We’ll continue to support Clarity House programmes, the work of WESOFOD and the voices of 12 villages where change is already taking root.

Stay with us as we grow, learn and build a future where inclusion is action, not aspiration.

Over the coming days, our work continues — in clinics, classrooms, and community centres — through shared learning, reflection, and the building of long-term partnerships.

Stay with us for the final chapter of the journey: one of gratitude, legacy, and looking to the future.
