Together for Inclusion: How You Can Support Clarity’s Mission in Sierra Leone

This November, five members of the Clarity team will travel to Kambia District, Sierra Leone — not to deliver charity, but to live out what we believe: real inclusion is action.

This visit marks the official opening of Clarity House, a new community-led centre built in partnership with WESOFOD (Welfare Society for the Disabled) — a remarkable, disability-run organisation based in Kambia. This space will serve as an essential base for healthcare teams, educators, and advocates delivering support to 12 villages where need is high, but the will for change is even higher.

But the trip is about more than a building. It’s about connection, solidarity, and practical support. And that’s where you come in.

Why This Matters

Children and young people living with disabilities in Sierra Leone face daily barriers that many of us can’t imagine — limited access to education, healthcare, mobility, and basic dignity.

But this isn’t a story of pity. It’s a story of potential. Communities in Kambia aren’t asking for handouts — they’re asking for the tools to build their own future.

This is what Clarity: Inclusion in Action is all about — working alongside local leaders to strengthen inclusion, opportunity, and resilience that lasts.

What You Can Give, What They Can Gain

As we prepare for our November journey, we are collecting practical, thoughtful items that will be hand-delivered to children, families, and community networks supported by WESOFOD.

Here’s what we’re asking for:

Working Tech (wiped & with chargers)

  • Old laptops, phones, tablets

  • Even older models can unlock education and communication for youth with disabilities

Children’s Items

  • Colouring pens, pencils, notepads, small books

  • Match Attax or trump cards (football or themed for girls)

Essential Supplies

  • Sanitary items (pads, hygiene kits)

  • New or gently-used children’s toys

  • Everyday items like chalk, pens, crayons

Football Shirts (any team, any size)

  • To support inclusive sport and play — helping children experience the joy of teamwork and belonging

If you have these items at home, at work, or in storage — they can go far further than you think.

To donate or get involved, please email us at:
📩 enquiries@clarityocchealth.co.uk

We’ll be announcing collection points and dates very soon, but early interest and contributions are welcome now.

Your Support = Real Impact

Every item you donate helps make Clarity House more than a building — it becomes a hub of hope, healing, and human connection.

  • A laptop means a child can learn.

  • A pack of crayons means creativity can flourish.

  • A football shirt means a young person feels seen and included.

It’s not about giving more — it’s about giving meaningfully.
