Day 3: Voice of the Village
In the Village of Hope, we were welcomed with music, dance and celebration. The sense of possibility was tangible — led not from outside, but from within the community itself. Stories shared by local leaders reminded us that inclusion flourishes when local ownership is central.
WESOFOD’s team shared their journey of advocacy, mobility support, awareness campaigns and policy influence — all proof that change comes from lived partnership.
Day 4: Clarity in Action‑ Opening of Clarity House
Our first full morning was spent walking with children from the Residential Rehabilitation Centre (RRC) to a local church. In that moment of worship and togetherness we were reminded that connection, dignity and belonging are at the heart of inclusion.
Later we visited the Magbema Chiefdom’s Paramount Chief and district authorities, gaining important insight into how inclusion is becoming embedded into the fabric of local development. We then explored Bamoi Luma’s weekly market — a vivid expression of rural enterprise, culture and resilience. Returning to RRC, we shared games, laughter and stories with children and staff — grounding us in the community we serve.
Football, Kit Swap & Unity in Play
To end the day, we joined the Maton community for a football match — Clarity vs. Maton. Jerseys were swapped, goals were scored (some more gracefully than others!), and laughter filled the pitch.
This wasn’t any match. It was a celebration of shared joy, community pride, and the power of sport to bring people together across cultures.
The Clarity team was honoured to gift football kits collected from supporters in the UK — including shirts from multiple clubs and countries — now proudly worn by the young players of Maton. It was a small gesture with a big impact.
Over the coming days, our work continues — in clinics, classrooms, and community centres — through shared learning, reflection, and the building of long-term partnerships.
Stay with us for the final chapter of the journey: one of gratitude, legacy, and looking to the future.
